Success mantra

What did you learn too late in life?
Social media is toxic (especially Instagram), it makes your time wasted by watching someone else’s fake life. It lowers your self esteem.
Life is not fair. Some people are luckier than you. You did good things to other people, it doesn’t ascertain that people will treat you good too.
Never expect too high. The more you expect when it doesn’t meet your expectation the more it’s gonna hurt.
You can’t make everyone happy. Make your decision and live it with no regrets.
When it’s ok according to you, it could be not for someone else.
Working out is good. One should start it earlier and be more disciplined in it.
Love doesn’t come in an instant. It involves many processes. But when it comes you don’t need reason for it.
Everyone has 3 faces. First, the one that they show to the world and stranger, second, the one that they show to family, spouse and close friends and the third, the one that they only show to themselves.
Communication, negotiation and marketing are important skills. No matter what field you are in, you should learn these soft skills.
I wish I found Quora earlier . I get knowledge and experience of other people by reading their answers and I also can share mine by writing.
Language is important. I wish I could learn Chinese and Japanese earlier.
Sometimes, you can’t change people. You change yourself to suit them.
Too much thinking will stop your acting

What are 10 things that you should definitely do before turning 30?
Do something nobody else in your family has ever done.
Fail at something big.
Travel halfway around the world.
Learn another language.
Form a letter writing habit.
Develop a hobby that makes you deeply happy.
Become a walker.
Dine at the table of a king.
Break bread with a pauper.
Fall in love.
How can I invest as a digital nomad?

It is the same as every other expat but with caveats.

From a very practical point of view, what you need to do is:

Fill out an online application form with a brokerage. That document will include questions on the source of wealth, like where the money originates from.
Give proof of address (usually a bank or utility statement) and ID (ID card or passport) for anti-money laundering requirements.
Fund the account
Many digital nomads don’t have things like a tax number overseas, which is asked for as part of the source of wealth requirements.

  1. Do something nobody else in your family has ever done.
  2. Fail at something big.
  3. Travel halfway around the world.

  1. Live alone on your own.
  2. Quit the job you dont like and choose the one you love.
  3. Find your soulmate.
  4. Travel as many places as possible;alone or with your best friends.
  5. Have a home of your own money.
  6. Have a life your parents would be proud of.
  7. Have a hobby or do something you always wanted to do.
  8. Let go of the people who pull you down or discourage you.
  9. Quit your bad habits, its high time to do so.
  10. Live life to the fullest. You live only once.

Chand Kumar, thanks for the A2A.

  1. Get into the habit of working out regularly : While it is never a good habit to be a couch potato, it’s even worse to be one after turning 30 because your metabolism slowly begins to gets worse year by year. So get into the habit of going for a run, or hitting the gym. Anything is fine, as long as you’re into some form of exercise.

2. Don’t feel the pressure to settle down, and commit to the wrong person : Yes, people around you will be in serious relationships, or getting married, and you’ll feel like doing the same. Love happens to everyone, and marriage happens to those who want it, but forcing these things just because everyone else is doing results in 2 ruined lives, yours and your S.O’s. So even if people are pressurizing you, tell yourself, that compatibility is worth being picky for!

3. Travel as much as you can : Oh, you can definitely travel after 30 too, and I am not saying this because this is the only time to travel, but travel teaches you so many things that even your MBA textbook did not. There is a unique beauty in getting lost in a country where you don’t know the routes or the language. Travel helps you push certain boundaries you have set for yourself, and emerge successful. Even if it means driving to your neighbouring state, it’s not a bad start. After all, little drops of water make the mighty ocean.

4. Pursue your dream little by little : A lot of us have our eyes set of certain dreams that we want to pursue. For some it maybe becoming a writer at some point, and for some it might be traveling the world. Don’t quit your job just as yet. Jot down your dream in as much detail as possible, and everyday do something that will get you closer to your dream, so that at some point you can make the switch towards pursuing your dream full time.

5. Live alone : I can’t stress how important this is. Whether it is living by yourself in the same city, or moving halfway across the world from your family, this teaches you more about life than anything else. It is very important to take matters in your own hands, and do everything on your own right from filing taxes to cleaning your apartment.

6. Develop a hobby : I am sure there is something that you love to do. Sure, if your motivation is sky high, then you can definitely make that your career. However if there is something you really like, but are happy with your career path, then it is the most fun and valuable thing to pursue and develop more skills with reference to your hobby! It can be playing tennis at a local club, or doing stand up comedy at comedy club! The sky is the limit :)

7. Embrace heartbreak : Now I wouldn’t wish upon heartbreak for anyone, but it is important to embrace heartbreak as something inevitable instead of blaming yourself for it. No! You did not screw your relationship up (Though in some cases people do it, but it’s for their own eventual good). You both were just not compatible enough to spend a future together, and that is perfectly fine. Do not keep analyzing what you could have done right. You’d rather be real than right.

8. Read a lot : Reading is very good at any age, but the 20’s is a good time to develop reading as a hobby/ skill set. What I mean is that you don’t need to read every novel available in the market, but it helps to know what’s happening in the world to make dinner table conversation. Read the news via an NY Times app which delivers the important news to your phone, or read articles about the world, online. Imagine knowing the name of the Armenian President and casually dropping it whilst on the dinner table! You’ll feel great that you read a lot, and even though you particularly don’t care about appearances, it will make you look smart! (Which you are!)

9. Invest : Coming from a family of fund managers, I know how important this is. Find a kickass fund manager, and invest at least 40% of your savings every month with them. Fast forward a few years, and you’ll be surprised at how much they make out of it. It is very important to invest in the right channels, so that your money can multiply.

10. Don’t take social media too seriously, and compare yourself repeatedly : Now there will be some people who achieve success early, and there will be some people who take time to get where they need to be. I have mentioned this a few times on Quora that just because it is 10 am in Paris, and 2:30 pm in Mumbai, doesn’t automatically make Mumbai better. Paris will get there in 4.5 hours, and probably be just as happy. Don’t let social media govern your moods, and your life. It’s okay if some people currently have a better life than yours, and who knows, they’re probably faking it as well. You’ll never know.

What is the best life advice you would give?

Over the past 6 or so years I:

Quit my corporate job
Built a 7-figure lifestyle business
Got into the relationship of my dreams
Built my ideal body
Put enough money in savings that I never have to worry about income again
Built a powerful network of millionaires, billionaires, and influential individuals
Overcame my social anxiety and depression and built the life of my dreams.
I don’t say this to brag.

Plenty of people have done more than me and I’m not particularly special.

I simply share this to point out that the advice I’m about to give is based on experience and real world results. Not theory.

So with all the credentials out of the way, here are my 30 top tips for living an amazing life after 30 years of experience.

1. Lift Heavy Weights 3–5 Time a Week (For the girls too)

You’ll look amazing, feel amazing, and improve every area of your life by leaps and bounds. I recommend following Bigger, Leaner, Stronger (if you’re a guy) or Thinner, Leaner, Stronger (if you’re a woman).

2. Sleep at least 8 hours a night

When you are sleep deprived, you are less productive, more prone to anger and depression, and unable to make the best decisions. Guard your sleep with your life and get at least 8 hours a night. It’s more important than you realize.

3. Drink Plenty of Water

Drink 1 gallon a day. It will help your joints and organs function better and keep you healthy for years to come.

4. Get Out in the Sunlight

We didn’t evolve to sit behind a computer all day long. We evolved to be outside, hunting, gathering, and having a blast. Spend at least 30 minutes outside everyday and your life will improve tremendously.

5. Prioritize Lifestyle Over Money… But Money Too

Money is important, but after a certain point, pursuing money can cost you a great life. Focus on lifestyle first (e.g. doing the things you want to do) while still putting a healthy emphasis on money so that you have the freedom to enjoy your lifestyle.

6. Commit to Kaizen

Change doesn’t happen overnight. It happens in small almost indiscernible steps. Each day when you wake up, try to be only 1% better at everything you do. Over a year, you’ll be 365% better and over a decade, you’ll be 3,650% better. That’s the difference between earning $100,000/year and earning $3.65 million.

7. Develop Marketable Skills Instead of a Resume

Your resume is for sh*t. What really matters is having marketable skills that other people need. Instead of worrying about your college degree or work experience, learn highly valuable skills like sales, marketing, copy writing, social media, and conversion optimization. You’ll never have to worry about money again.

8. Always Use Protection

Seriously. An unwanted pregnancy or incurable STD isn’t worth the 7 minutes of pleasure that you’ll get. Wrap it up and be safe.

9. Laugh More Often

Life is too damn short to be serious all the time. Laugh your butt off and smile for no reason whatsoever.

10. Spend as Much Time as You Can in Nature

Much like point #4, I recommend that you spend as much time in nature as possible. But not just a 30 minute walk in the park. Go hiking, camping, or surfing for at least 3 hours a week somewhere away from the city. It will recharge you and make you feel like $1,000,000.

11. Breathing and Yoga Solve Most Problems

Seriously. If you’re stressed, sore, or pissed off, just breathe it out and stretch through it. I have yet to encounter a terrible situation that isn’t improved by yoga and breathing.

12. Stop Caring So Much

Life just isn’t that important. It’s a flash in the pan and then we’re gone for good (at least until someone proves otherwise). So just chill out and realize that nothing is really that big of a deal.

13. Think About Death

Yup, you’re gonna die. I know that’s not a nice thing to point out. But it’s important to remember. Spend time contemplating your own death so that you can more fully live in the present moment.

14. Ignore Most People (Even Me)

99.99% of people are full of sh*t. Ignore anyone and everyone who doesn’t have the results you want, even me. If you want to learn how to become a billionaire playboy living the jet set lifestlye, you probably shouldn’t read my responses. But if you want to learn how to build a million dollar lifestyle business and enjoy life, I’m your guy. Don’t listen to anyone who you wouldn’t trade lives with. Period.

15. Travel Frequently and Travel Long

The world is full of amazing people and experiences. But you have to get out of your bubble to experience them. Buy a one way plane ticket and see what happens.

16. Remember that Failure is an Illusion

Failure isn’t a real thing. It’s a temporary state. When you “Fail” you simply found out that the way you’re doing things right now isn’t working. So change what you’re doing and you’ll change the results. Don’t get bogged down when things don’t work.

17. Listen to Music More Often

Music is like food for the soul and makes life more beautiful. Listen to it whenever you can.

18. Dont’ Eat Sugar

It rots your brain and makes you fat (even if it’s delicious). Don’t eat sugar and your life will get better.

19. Get Drunk More Often (In the Right Way)

Yup, you read that right. Go get wasted… Sort of. Some of the biggest lessons and coolest business deals I’ve ever done happened over a cocktail (or two or three) at a networking event or party. Go to as many high level events and parties as you can and (despite what the headline said) drink responsibly. Nothing will put off a potential investor or mentor more than being a sloppy drunk.

20. Ask “How Little” not “How Much”

Most people ask “How much do I need”. A better question is “How little do I need”. How little money can I make and still be happy? How little can I work and still achieve the results I want? Realize that life is about hacking away at the unessential, not adding superfluous crap.

21. Don’t Watch Porn

It will screw up your view of sex and love and hijack the pleasure centers in your brain. Take care of business “manually” if you need to, but use your imagination and memory of past experiences, not porn.

22. Slow Down

Life is short enough as it is. Don’t make it shorter by constantly trying to speed up life and rapidly achieve all of your dreams. Slow down and fall in love with the process.

23. Never Attribute to Malice What Can Easily Be Explained by Stupidity

People are stupid. But most people aren’t bad. When someone screws you over, realize that 9 times out of 10 it’s because they’re an inconsiderate moron. Not a malicious vindictive a-hole.

24. Talk to Yourself Like a Treasured Friend

We all talk to ourselves (in our heads and out loud) all day long. Would you want to talk to a good friend the way you talk to yourself? No? Then change how you talk to yourself. Despite what you tell yourself after you have an off day, you’re not a “Lazy f*cking piece of s**t” you’re a human being who is prone to mistakes. So be nice to yourself.

25. Remove Toxic People From Your Life

They aren’t worth it. They’ll drag you down and poison your life.

26. Don’t Hold a Grudge

It’s like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Do you really think that holding on to hate and anger is going to affect the person who wronged you?

27. Learn to Live with Less

You need less than you think to be happy. Good food, good friends, good wine (or bourbon), and plenty of love is all you really need. Anything else is a bonus.

28. Laugh Your Butt Off Daily

I know I said this already, but seriously! Life is short. Laugh it up and learn to smile more than you should.

29. Don’t Take Yourself too Seriously

You aren't that important and no one cares (this applies to everyone). 150 years from now, you’ll be dead and it’s unlikely that anyone will remember you. So don’t take yourself too seriously.

30. Enjoy

Life is short. So enjoy it while it lasts. Have fun. Do the things you want to do. Eliminate hate and anger from your heart. Live your life on your terms so you can die with no regrets.

Stay Grounded,
Andrew

What is the best life advice you would give?
Your personal and career growth is more important than your lover. If you are a failure, nobody will stay with you
Love fades with time and mood because it is a transient feeling.
Only you are responsible for your mistakes. Rather than blaming others, take full responsibility for your actions and avoid repeating again those mistakes.
Your problems are gossip for your friends. Your parents are the only people who care. For example, if you lose the job, your friends and relatives will only sympathize, but your parents are the ones who will face the problem and look for solutions.
Be a jack of all trades. Try learning different things and skills.
To be happy, accept and move on. If your partner dumped you or cheated on you, accept it and realize that someone more worthy is meant to be in your life. Pity them.
All people are unique. You may not be good at studies but you may be good at designing. Focus on your skills and elevate them up to the level of excellence rather than feeling jealous and competing with talented people, which will make you mediocre. If you are really talented in a field, just go for it. Don't worry about what your friends and relatives might say.
Breakup with your lover is a blessing. You will only realize it after some years. Breakups change how you perceive and make you mature.
Don’t announce your goals and dreams on a loudspeaker. Once you achieve, the people will get to know.
Sex is a small act. It is overrated and hyped. Having sex doesn’t assure a long-lasting relationship.
Don’t be influenced by cool friends, parties, alcohol, outings, cigarettes. This modernness will waste your time and make you regret.
Nothing is wrong. Nothing is right. There are just consequences.
Your skills and talent will bring you way more success than good looks ever can. Focus on the former rather than wasting time on the latter.
Life is about perspective. Everyone functions as per their own perspective.
Reading and writing are constant development promoters. Invest your time in reading good books, especially non-fiction.
The reason for misery in life is being with negative people. Surrounded yourself with positive and like-minded people to be happy.
Have fun with others, but make sure you spend the time to improve yourself.
Life starts after no contact. Stop dealing with toxic people.
Only your parents will be there to constantly support you. Take care of them.
Don’t be a friend with an ex who dumped you because when they get a new lover, they will again dump you. That will hurt and cause more pain.
When selecting a partner, favor their behavior, emotional bonding, intelligence, and compassion (not just for you but for all people) over their looks solely. Looks surely matter, but once you begin dating, the scale at which you like good looks will keep decreasing. Only a good and interesting person can sustain great relationships.
Be obsessed. Think of it, dream about it, feel it, talk about it, work for it, do everything on that one thing you want - the universe will ensure you get it.
