🪢 Raksha Bandhan Bouddhik
Dear Respected Ones,
On this sacred day of Raksha Bandhan, celebrated on the auspicious Shravana Purnima, let us come together and take a collective, heartfelt pledge:
“I am your Rakshak (protector), you are my Rakshak — and together, we are the Rakshaks of Dharma, Bhoomi, and Samajam.”
This is not just a festival of affection between brothers and sisters. It is a spiritual, cultural, and national commitment — a day when we renew our vow to protect our land, our timeless Dharma, and our society.
Raksha Bandhan is one of the six Utsavs of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Through this occasion, we establish deeper connections with society, introduce new individuals to Sangh work, and strengthen the sense of universal brotherhood in the Hindu community.
On this day, we take a sankalp to protect three foundational pillars of our nation:
🌏 1. Bhoomi — Our Sacred Motherland
Our Bharat Bhumi is a divine land. It is sanctified by the footsteps of avatars like Sri Rama and Sri Krishna. Every grain of soil here is touched by the breath of sages, freedom fighters, and saints.
Even in recent times, the Tanot Mata temple stood firm during wartime, with unexploded bombs seen as divine miracles. Such is the shakti of our land.
But today, when there are forces trying to divide or defame this sacred land, it becomes our sacred duty to protect every inch of this Bhoomi with unwavering devotion.
🕉️ 2. Dharma — Our Timeless Civilizational Wisdom
Hindu Dharma is not just a religion; it is a way of life, a science of living with harmony. It teaches us:
- Every woman is to be revered as a mother (except one’s wife)
- A newborn child is not a sinner, but a spark of divinity
- Nature provides for our needs, not our greed — hence, nature must be worshipped, not exploited
We believe in one all-pervading divine truth, accessible through many forms and paths.
That is why our Dharma encourages tolerance, harmony, and peaceful coexistence.
Today, when the world is plagued by hatred, extremism, and terrorism, this idea from Bharat — “All paths lead to truth” — becomes the only sustainable solution to global unrest.
Let us remember: Hindus have never caused destruction to any civilization. History shows the world has never suffered because of Hindus. But the world has suffered endlessly due to ideologies that say, “Only my God is true.”
👥 3. Samajam — Our Society and Its Cultural Soul
Long before any modern nation existed, our society lived by the noble prayer:
“Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavantu” — May all beings be happy.
Our ancestors excelled in 64 kalas (arts), spiritual wisdom, family values, and village-based self-sustaining systems.
But over time, we entered a state of Atma Vismruti — forgetting who we are, blindly imitating the West, losing unity, and abandoning our cultural self-respect.
To reverse this decline, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the RSS in 1925 — not as a political movement, but as a spiritual and social awakening.
The Sangh reminds us:
“The individual is important, but society is supreme.”
It inspires every swayamsevak to dedicate themselves to the well-being of society and develop sensitivity to its pain.
✨ Sankalp — “Not Me or You, But WE!”
Sometimes, we may feel: “I’m just one person… what can I do?”
But when we awaken to the truth that “we are all one,” we realize that together, we can achieve anything.
That is the spirit of Raksha Bandhan — it binds us with faith in each other and reminds us of our shared responsibility to protect our land, our Dharma, and our people.
🇮🇳 Finally, Let Us Remember:
We are all children of Bharat Mata. We are all brothers and sisters.
Let us rise above divisions — of caste, class, and social status — and celebrate this Raksha Bandhan with the conviction that:
“We are not divided beings, we are united protectors.”
“We are not just relatives, we are co-travelers on the path of Dharma.”
Let every heart awaken to this message. Let every home reaffirm this pledge. Let every Swayamsevak strengthen this spirit.
Raksha Bandhan is not just a thread around the wrist.
It is a thread of unity, a vow of protection, and a symbol of collective awakening.
Let us celebrate it with joy, pride, and responsibility.
Om Tat Sat.
🙏
